Ethan W. Smith

Ethan graduated from the University of California Irvine School of Law in 2023 and currently practices in Southern California. During law school, Ethan was a member of the Workers, Law, and Organizing Clinic, which focuses on low-wage worker organizing across communities in Southern California. Ethan also served as a student leader for the Transgender Legal Assistance pro bono clinic, which assists transgender individuals with completing name and gender marker change paperwork for filing in the California courts, and with which he still volunteers as a practicing attorney. Prior to law school, Ethan served as a legislative advisor to Massachusetts State Senator Sonia Chang-Díaz, specializing in public education finance, disability policy, and labor and workforce development. Ethan graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2014 where he studied performance poetry and from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2017 where he studied Arts in Education and Education Policy. Prior to practicing law, Ethan worked in the public affairs department at GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders, and taught poetry at 826 Boston.
