The author was sentenced in December 2021. United States v. Chancellor Karla, No. 1:21-cr-00177 (S.D. Ind. 2021). He started his prison term at the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota, where work on this article began in early 2023. Since November 2025, he has been housed at the Federal Correctional Institution in Elkton, Ohio. He received his Paralegal Certificate from George Mason University in 2019.
