Charlie Martel

Charlie Martel is Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law. Previously he was Professor of Practice at Washington & Lee University School of Law and Adjunct Professor at the American University Washington College of Law. He taught courses on National Security Legislation, Legal Profession, and Legal Writing. Professor Martel served as Investigative Counsel for the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, where his work included investigations on counter-terror and humanitarian disaster response. He has a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from the London School of Economics and has worked with human rights, refugee rights, and immigrant rights organizations.
