Anthony Thompson
Anthony Thompson is a Professor of Clinical Law at New York University School of Law whose work focuses on criminal law and civil litigation. He and Professor Bell have been friends and colleagues for a number ofyears. Thompson has written extensively and influentially on race and the Fourth Amendment, prisoner reentry, and community prosecution. He designed and developed the first clinic in the United States that focuses on prisoner reentry, and in 2007 was awarded the Podell Distinguished Teaching Award from NYU. In addition to teaching a year-long community defense clinic, Thompson has stepped in this year to teach Derrick Bell’s Current Constitutional Issues course and his Critical Race Theory course.
